This movie was excellent!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been lucky to see a run of excellent movies: the departed, good shepard, Babel,Pan's Labyrinth, and most recently Blood Diamond. I must say leo did look hot in just a towel!!!! but that took a back seat to the wonderful screenplay and cinematography. The sad part of it is that its based on a true story and events that took place with in the last 8 yrs or so. I was appalled to realize that I had never even heard of the diamond trade and the war it caused in Africa until now! What does this say about american journalisim? (one of the points of the movie). Is it worse then what it was 8yrs ago? All I have to say is that I never want to own a diamond! (not that its any different then my former view on diamonds but now I have an even better reason not to own one)
All I have to say is: Go see this movie!!!!!

Ok I know I have no right to complain considering that the rest of the country is way colder but.....IT WAS 34 DEGREES OUT WHEN I WALKED TO SCHOOL THIS MORNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, I have adapted to the Floridian life style, and yes this was cold considering last wed it was sunny and 65 out!!!! What is up with this weather!!!!!!!!!!! I live in Florida for a reason, for it to be warm and sunny!!!
Anyway:
After a long stand off, my blogger was finally updated by the good people at google.....
Saturday night Ben and I made the best dinner EVER! Menu: peppercorn spice rubbed filet mignon, wild mushroom risotto, arugala citrus salad, and Italian Proseco which is an italian champagne!!!!! mmmmmmmm yummy! I think its time to quit this grad school thing and become a cook:)

Climbing at HP40, AL
This past weekend Ben, April, Mark, and I went climbing at Horse Pens 40, Alabama. We headed out friday evening despite the weather reports saying the high would be 40F. We stopped off at Beth's house for the night and woke up early in the morning to go climbing. And yes, it was only 25F out at this point in time. A short 2h drive later we jumped out into the frigid weather to start our day of climbing. Horse Pens 40 is a 120acre boulder field on top of a mountain. It used to be used by the cherokee indians for shelter and food storage. During the civil war the confederate army used it for food storage as well. The land was then bought and is now used for blugrass music festivals as well as climbing. It was such a beautiful place and the rocks were so awesome! Not one was the same! My first couple of climbs did not turn out so well but then I decided, with marks help, to climb this 20ft boulder. It took 3 attempts but I finally topped out...I was sooooooo excited! My first succesful bouldering climb!!!! Everyone climbed well, we all have a "little" less skin on our hands, and no one got hurt! I can't wait to go again:)

Pictures Galore
Ok Yes I know that I have been quite lazy on updating my blogger...but here we go....
For New Years this year I went to Eugene, Oregon to stay with Ben and his mom. Andy, his girlfriend lynn, and Warren all came for the visit too:) After a few cups of warm tea and hot chocolate the craziness began! First Ben, his mom, Andy, and I went to an Oregon Ducks game (ben's attempt to convert me from a gator to a duck; it didn't work). The game was super fun and the b-ball stadium was a ton of fun! Definatly diffferent then a gators game:)
The next day, warren arrived just in time for us to go to the Beir Stein!!!!! Oh sooooooooooo much beer!!!!!

The following day we went Snowboarding at Willamate Pass, OR. It was a ton of fun!!!! While ben was taking his lesson, I taught Warren how to snowboard west coast style:) Everyone did great and no one go "too" hurt;) how I wish we had a hot tub!!!!

New years Eve came along and we started the day off with some Mimosa's and a good breakfast. We chilled during the day watching movies and trying to keep warm:) Ben and I made a ton of appitizers and then the dinner: champagne shrimp with onion risotto!!! very yummy....We were stocked up on wine and champagne so I will let the pictures speak for themselves however, they do not do the evening justice:)

Andy and Lynn left on the 1st:( and then warren left on the 2nd:( Ben and I left for the coast on the 2nd since I wanted to see what the "other side of the world" looked like:) We hiked up 2mi to a top of a mountain where the best look out point was. I say best meaning on a nice sunny day, but in good old fasion Oregon style, it was cloudly cold and rainy!!! still a very beautiful place and not even a 2mi run down the mountain in the rain could have ruined it (don't ever try running down a mountain in the rain...its not good for anyones health;) hehehehe but we had fun)
